How does the Co-op work?
Each week we visit wholesale markets, local farms & various buyers and price out what fresh items will be included in the bin for the week.
Most produce has a growing season and purchasing fruits/veggies in season at wholesale amounts can save you greatly. Not all produce is local. We do not have any apple orchards here in Florida..they grow in Washington & New York. Grapes grow better in California.
How do I order?
Every Sunday I post on Facebook and the website what will be included in the bin for the week....sometimes I may post as early as Saturday afternoon. There is a post with neighborhood information, bin contents, times & locations....it will also include a Google document to complete. You will have 2 options. Medium Bin for $20 or Large Bin for $30. A medium bin will feed a family of 4, large bin will feed 5 - 7. A large bin is NOT double every item. There are "add-ons" at the market - sometimes we have berries, citrus, pickles, etc. and you can add those to your bin. You may also just purchase the add-ons at the market without buying a bin that week. If there is something in the bin you don't like, at the end of the pick up line there are bins you can trade out items. Payment is done at the market, cash only please, no checks.
There is a one time fee of $5 to join the co-op, this helps us cover costs of tables, tents, etc.
You should receive an email response after submitting your order. Please look in your spam folder, the responses tend to go there.
How can someone order who does not have Facebook?
The person without Facebook can email us at email@example.com to get the link for the order form. Also, the order post and link can be copied and it can be emailed or texted to the person that wants to order that doesn't have Facebook.
Picking up your bin at the market
Bring a tote bag or box to get your items. If you have ordered meats or cheese we suggest an ice pack or cooler too. If you cannot pick up your bin you can send someone else.
If you let us know more than 24 hours in advance, we can accommodate changing the pick up to another location. Less than 24 hours and your bin that you did not pick up will be donated and it will count as a strike.
